About
Hi, I’m Kei Tsuda—most people just call me K-san.
Ikigai Home Cooking began from a simple idea:
good food matters most when it fits naturally into the rhythm of home and family life.
Rather than cooking for crowds or special events, I work primarily with households who enjoy eating at home, where food is part of everyday life, conversation, and connection.
Sometimes that means a quiet weekday meal for two. Other times, it means helping a family gather across generations around the same table.
Each engagement is shaped by the household, the occasion, and how people like, and need, to eat now.

Delicious Japanese meals without the hustle of going to a restaurant.
A weekday meal at home...
For many couples, Ikigai Home Cooking is part of a weekday rhythm.
A relaxed meal cooked at home, without rushing, and often with a little left over for the following day.
This kind of cooking is unhurried and familiar - designed to fit comfortably into daily life rather than stand out as an “event.”

Three generations, one table
Some of the most meaningful meals happen when grandparents, parents, and grandchildren share the same table.
In these moments, the goal isn’t complexity or presentation.
It’s making sure everyone can eat comfortably, at the same time, without the hosts needing to manage the kitchen.
Cooking at home allows the focus to stay where it belongs - on being together.

Hosting friends without managing the kitchen
When friends are invited over, many hosts would rather enjoy the conversation than worry about timing, menus, or cleanup.
In these gatherings, my role is simply to take care of the cooking steadily in the background, so the hosts can relax and enjoy their own evening at home.

Dietary-aware Japanese home cooking
As tastes and bodies change over time, eating well often means being more attentive - without making food feel restrictive or clinical.
Cooking at home makes it possible to adapt Japanese home cooking naturally, adjusting seasoning, portions, and textures so everyone can enjoy the same meal comfortably.

Authentic Japanese food that we got to enjoy in our home! I liked how you talked about it being comfort food in Japan. I can imagine that your customers will enjoy getting a lot bit of an education about the particular food you’re making.
